The care and supervision of our mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, and other loved ones are entrusted with nursing homes, assisted living facilities and managed care facilities throughout Ohio. While most of these professional care centers provide excellent care, supervision and quality of life, some nursing homes are not worthy of that trust. It's a reality that a loved one may become a victim of unexplained injuries, verbal abuse, physical abuse, substandard care, neglect or worse, unexpected death.

Nursing homes and managed care facilities are highly regulated operations. There are specific rules and requirements in place to protect residents and patients. These facilities must satisfy these requirements. However, not all do.

Falls, broken bones, fractures and other injuries occur because staff members do not receive the proper certifications and training. Poor hiring practices may result in some facilities retaining staff members with a history of neglect, abuse and carelessness. Sexual assaults by other residents or employees at the care facility are unthinkable acts but they do happen.

These are just a few examples of what can occur in these nursing home and care facilities. Your loved one deserves the respect and dignity that comes with proper care. A level of service that falls short of that requires action.

Slater & Zurz, LLP BBB Business Review
"I have to tell you this is a great law firm. My mom used them when she felt my grandfather died from negligence at a nursing home. Slater & Zurz listened, kept mom informed, consoled and counseled her, aggressively won the case and gave her and our whole family closure. I recommend them for anyone who needs a serious attorney and a good attorney. They left no questions unanswered and I thank them for helping my mom with this horrific incident"
