An older man suffered a burst abdominal aortic aneurysm.  Although surgery was performed, he was left a paraplegic.  He was transferred to a nursing home for rehab, where he spent several months following the surgery.  After some time, he noticed a strange smell and complained to the staff and his physician.  His physician discovered a large decubitus, or bedsore on his buttocks. 
Result:  After the man retained attorney John J. Lynett, Jr. of Slater and Zurz, suit was filed and the case was ultimately settled for $75,000.
